So, for years now we've been scouting areas throughout Texas and building our own personal data base of potential shooting locations. On a recent trip to Austin we were able to set up a tour of the New Republic Studios thanks to President Mindy Raymond Benson who cleared her schedule and showed us around personally. Above are just a few pictures we took of the enormous 200 acre backlot. This small collage doesn't even come close to showcasing everything that this giant production facility has to offer. It has all of the necessary amenities and coneniences to fit any size production. It has production offices, conference rooms, screening rooms and ADR/isolation rooms. Four sound stages ranging from 1,200 square feet to 3,000 square feet. As well as, acres of high plains, open pastures, wooded areas, and access to the Colorado River. They offer everything creative possibility imaginable along with very affordable rates. The most exciting part of the tour was when we were shown the detailed plans for various stages of future expansion. It is truly on the Disney World level of ambition and it was mind blowing to think we could have something like that here in Texas on day.
